Remember Deepika Padukone’s saree at the Cannes festival, which was not liked by some fashion bloggers for its short blouse and draping style… interestingly enough we see lot other celebs copying that style and here is one live example.

One more white saree at the reception, Aarti Chabbria looks so different yet lovely in that red bindi, we took our time to confirm it was really her.

Post marriage Ayesha Takia seems to have really worked on her looks, she didn’t look so pretty at her own wedding reception.

After sarees, lehengas and sharara its now turn for churidaars.  Mughda Godse and Karishma Tanna had on them lovely churidaars, actually liked Mughda’s dress better… one cool pattern that is!

Abhishek Bachchan with wifey Aishwarya were present there too, nothing to talk about Aishwarya this time; actually we have not been able to take our eyes off that scarf Abhi has around his neck, too bulgy… was Abhi not keeping well or something?

Saree is an amazing piece of cloth we all know but what many do not know is that, it’s the draping which does the trick.  Like here we didn’t like the color of Eesha’s saree but the draping just nullified the effects of that color.  And Eesha you surely should have more Indian outfits in your wardrobe, it suits you a lot better than those itsy-bitsy clothes!

Bad news at the Derewala fashion show was Neetu Chandra made a disgusting appearance in a Fuchsia gown but the good news is, since most of her past looks were a debacle, we never really expected much from her.

The age- defying Sharon Prabhakar looked really cute in that green salwar kameez, effortless style isn’t it?

Hip Hop singer Hard Kaur came in her usual raunchy style with nothing new to offer, but for some unknown reasons she looked funny this time, is it her hair?

Pria Kataria Puri’s  Royal Rajputana Collection had some trendy wedding wear like the one above.

At the venue Pria Kataria wore one of her Kaftan gown which was also displayed at the show.  It was a good way of showing that the gown can be used for weddings and other occasions too; you just have to decide how stylish you want to make the occasion.

Other designers contributed to the show were Gaviin Miguel, Deepika Gehani and Riyaz Gangji.  On top Amruta Patki is wearing one of Gavin Miguel’s gown; for the western touch in Indian weddings.

We love Claudia Ciesla in the blue netted sari but Claudia next time try a dark color it would definitely bring out the best in you.

Shyamal and Bhumika designed this Lehenga and how well it worked for Neha Dhupia you can see; the strapless blouse is giving it a bold look yet has all aspects of the rich Indian culture preserved.

Has Ayesha Takia lost weight or is it the black top over skinny tights that’s making her look that way?

We almost missed this, MTV VJ Ranvijay Singh’s interesting match up of blue checks shirt with black checks jacket on ripped jeans.  And what do you have to say for the blue shirt half in and half out… very funky…. very MTV style???

Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, one of Jaipur’s oldest jewellery brands presented its latest collection “Adrishya” which means invisible in sanskrit. The name befits the collection that had ornaments made of Kundan, pearl and other precious stone well set in gold but gold remains invisible.

With an appeal value for women world over, Kriplani and Sons presented its collection consisting of hand crafted jewellery in traditional and contemporary designs.  The one on top is just something to die for!

Audience at IIJW saw some unconventional work of art in Bina Goenka’s collection “Tribute to Gaia”, no wonder Bina received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Another designed for elegance type of ornaments from Dwarkadas.  With about 50 years of experience in the jewellery business, Dwarkadas brand of Jewellery continue to bring on finely crafted necklaces, earrings, rings and long Rani Haars with intricate designs.

If you love the touch of Indian traditional jewellery, you will find the top line of Gitanjali Jewellery irresistible.  Gitanjali Debut Collection presented three different collections named Parineeta, Menz and Nizam.  On right we see designs from Parineeta and on left Nizam.

Above we see the exclusive “Kanhai” collection by Eekani Jewellers; Kanhai is another name for Lord Krishna and the peacock feather represents creativity.  Earrings, Bangles, necklaces and chokers studded with rubies, emeralds, pearls and uncut diamonds set in pure gold is sure good enough to impress any woman!

On top Reha Sukheja and Deepti Gujral are modelling for Golecha brand of Jewellery, a brand that presented an ethnic and contemporary mix of jewellery.   The show stopper Reha Sukheja came in an enormously designed bridal necklace and Maharani Haar, armlets, rings, bangles and mang tikka.

We present here a few best Jewellery collections seen on Day 1.  Here the model is wearing a few pieces from the bridal collection of  CKC jewellery.  True beauty in diamonds, emeralds and polished coral drops cleverly designed with glittering stones.

More of Farah Ali Khan’s work… bold yet very elegant line of jewellery called “Adaayein”.   Farah Ali Khan is known for crafting amazing designs which has been seen on celebs at various award functions including Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.

A pioneer  in creative and innovative jewellery Varuna D Jani presented the VOW collection.   VOW is short for Very Own Wish, gazing at the well crafted jewellery the audience really went WOW!

Gitanjali Jewellers need no introduction they are already a popular Jewellery brand.  On day 1, they presented  best of Gili, Sangini, D’damas and Asmi collections.  If after looking at the pictures you are wondering why are you not in the place of these models, don’t worry we echo the thoughts!

Not too gaudy not too simple is how we would describe Deepika Padukone’s white churidaar.

Best for the last, at Robot Music launch, Aishwarya Rai was seen in this lovely dress designed by Manish Malhotra.  Its amazing how Indian outfits brings on the lady that extra grace!
